Terms of service.

The agreement between you and ShannonGuides when you purchase a guide or book a consulting session. Written in plain language, intentionally short, no legalese padding.

In short

Buy a guide, use it personally for whatever you need. Don't republish it or pass the PDF around — that's the only rule. We do our best to keep the guides accurate but cannot guarantee every detail is current. If something goes wrong with delivery or you have a problem, email us and we'll sort it out.

Section 1

Scope of these terms.

These terms apply to all purchases from shannonguides.com and the Tor hidden service (.onion) version of the site, as well as to any consulting engagement booked via either. By making a purchase or booking, you agree to these terms.

Section 2

Your licence.

When you purchase a guide, you receive a single-user licence to use that guide for personal or internal-business reference. The licence is non-transferable. You retain the right to print physical copies for your own use as part of putting the material into practice.

Section 3

Permitted uses.

  • Reading and reference for your own purposes
  • Following the procedures, configurations, and recommendations described
  • Printing copies for your own personal or working use
  • Quoting brief passages (a paragraph or two) with attribution to ShannonGuides
  • Sharing your own experience of using a guide (reviews, social posts, word of mouth)
Section 4

Prohibited uses.

  • Reselling, redistributing, republishing, or otherwise making the guide available to others
  • Uploading the PDF to public file-sharing services, forums, or torrent sites
  • Removing or obscuring watermarks, copyright notices, or any identifying information
  • Sharing the PDF or its password with third parties
  • Using the content as the basis for a competing commercial product
Section 5

Delivery of your purchase.

After successful payment, you receive two emails:

  • A time-limited download link — expires 48 hours after issue if unused, or one hour after first click with three permitted download attempts
  • A separate email with the PDF password — sent approximately five minutes after the link

If either email does not arrive within 30 minutes (check spam folder first), email info@shannonguides.com with the order reference shown on your confirmation page.

Section 6

Refunds.

Because guides are digital products delivered immediately, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis rather than as a blanket policy. If you experience a delivery failure, a technical defect, a content issue, or any genuine reason to request a refund, email info@shannonguides.com with your order reference and a description of the issue. Reasonable requests are honoured.

Section 7

Accuracy and warranty.

Each guide is written from direct personal experience and reviewed for accuracy at the time of publication. Software interfaces change, prices change, regulations change, and hardware models are superseded. We do not warrant that any specific procedure, screenshot, command, price, or technical detail will be current at the moment you read it.

For any task with significant consequences — financial decisions, choices that affect your legal standing, configurations that affect access to important accounts, or anything else where a mistake is hard to reverse — use your own professional judgment and consult qualified professionals where appropriate. The guides are aids to understanding, not substitutes for competent practice or qualified advice.

Section 8

Liability limitation.

ShannonGuides' total liability for any claim arising from your purchase is limited to the price you paid for the guide. ShannonGuides is not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages, or for any outcome resulting from your decision to follow, modify, or disregard information presented in a guide.

Section 9

Governing law.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through email correspondence shall be brought in the courts of Ontario.

Section 10

Changes to these terms.

Material changes will be noted on this page with the effective date below. Changes do not retroactively affect guides already purchased — the licence terms in effect at the moment of your purchase remain the ones that apply to that purchase.
